Can I fold a square scarf into a triangle scarf?
Yes. Fold it corner to corner. It will be double thickness with a fold on the long edge, which is bulkier at the knot but fine for silk and cotton.
Why are knit scarves triangles rather than squares?
A folded square knit would be double thickness and very bulky. Knitting the triangle shape directly gives one layer that sits close to the neck.
Which is more versatile?
